Want to make your own paracord dog tab leash using the snake knot but don’t know how? Imagine following a video to make your own custom paracord dog leash with ease. Watch this video to find out how.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Scissors
  2. Paracord – The length depends on the length you want the leash to be. In the video I used 20 feet of paracord to make around a one foot leash. The inner cords need to be only as long as you want the leash to be. Make sure to add a few inches for knotting the ends and splicing them back into the cobra braid.
  3. Lighter – To singe the ends of the paracord. Can also be used to finish and melt the ends to the main cords at the end of the paracord dog leash.
  4. Dog Leash Clip – You can use whatever you prefer as the dog leash clip. In my video I used a lobster clasp rated for a maximum weight of 40 pounds.

First put one end of your cord through the dog leash clip.

Next start your knotting. Braid your paracord until it is the length you want it to be. Don’t forget that you need to include the end tab in the lenth of your cord.

After finishing your  knotting fold over the ending section of knots. Then braid the cords back into the other end knots.

You can then cut off the excess paracord and glue or burn/melt the cords to the rest of the cord to finish the paracord dog tab leash.
