DIY Paracord Dog Tab Leash – Gear Knot

DIY Paracord Dog Leash Gear Knot

This paracord dog leash was made using the gear knot.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Scissors
  2. Paracord – To make a 6 foot leash and a 5 inch handle you will need 82 feet of the solid black paracord. You will also need one orange cord that is 30 feet. In addition to the orange cord you will need another black cord that is 30 feet. These two 30 feet pieces of paracord are the cords that are joined by melting them together.
  3. Lighter – To singe the ends of the paracord. Can also be used to finish and melt the ends to the main cords at the end of the paracord dog leash.
  4. Dog Leash Clip – You can use whatever you prefer as the dog leash clip. In my video I used a lobster clasp rated for a maximum weight of 40 pounds.
  5. Paracord Jig (Optional) – This is helpful for keeping your paracord tight when working.
